Book Now - Best of Lake Argyle Cruise

You will cruise at an exhilarating 30 knots to cover more than 120km exploring the far reaches of Lake Argyle. This half day cruise takes in all that is included in the Sunset Magic plus much more. Cruise near the submerged site of the now famous Durack Family Homestead - “Argyle Downs”. Stop for lunch while taking in the amazing scenery, disembark on a remote island in search of Zebra Rock, enjoy your complimentary afternoon tea of fresh local melons and sample some of the famous Ord River produce. Explore the wetlands of one of the rivers feeding Lake Argyle’s eco system, home to a myriad of bird life at times numbering in the tens of thousands. Binoculars are provided for a closer look at the display of different wildlife.
While cruising back across the lake, sit back and relax and catch the changing colours of the late afternoon scenery reflecting off red cliffs and islands dotted throughout the lake.
Finally, stop for a refreshing swim (don’t forget your bathers!) and enjoy complimentary beer, wine, or champagne and snacks - a perfect end to the best way to experience the true magnificence of Lake Argyle and its surrounds.

The Best of Lake Argyle cruise operates from May to September, enquire for cruises outside this period.

With its ever changing moods and landscapes this inland sea was created in 1971, by damming the mighty Ord River, forming a storage reservoir to supply one of the country’s largest and most ambitious irrigation schemes. What was once “Argyle Downs”, a million acre cattle station, is now an immense body of water amid a largely untamed and rugged wilderness in the remote East Kimberley region of Western Australia. Aptly named “Lake Argyle”, this majestic waterway can at times encompass and area of more than 2000 km2, a volume of water equivalent to 54 Sydney harbours.
